yeah, i thought, it was a manipulation first, because there are similar effects in PS. so can you tell me how you did this?

well not to get into to much detail i use a varying range of mech pencil's then i shade with charcoal pencils then i darken with graphites then i go back over it with the mech's i spend alot of money in lead...once i scan it into the pc i use photo shop to color burn it so that it brings the darkness back into the photo scanners suck at pick up details. some times i have to use photo shop and my pen tab to fix eyes and such. pretty much the only thing photoshop'ed in this is darkening it. crosshatching is the way to go with shaded area's. i spend most of my days doing art... this is kinda my release i use a range of papers to get a range of background texture's as well as actual canvas. come check back i'll have more art up in a cupple days. got alot that clients don't want to use so im going to post it.
